Bucky's Trees at Wellsboro's Dickens of a Christmas by Lonny Frost 2019 Series Limited Edition Pop's Culture Shoppe Puzzle, 20"x28" 1000 pieces. Winner of our annual puzzle photo contest!
In Lonny's own words, "Bucky Green's Pine Trees have always captured my eye. The unique style and craftmanship of each carved tree just make one fall in love with them, and they really stand out when in a large group setting, bending in different directions with their colorful soft tones of green, brown or blue. One thing is for sure, Bucky's is the only booth during Dickens that has a waiting line forming an hour before the event even opens!
A photo captures a brief moment of time that is preserved as long as the image survives. It can express love, beauty, bewilderment or even heartbreak. I have enjoyed photography since the age of 10. When the digital world took off, I was launched into the world of photojournalism to cover breaking local news. I began carrying a camera with me at all times, as one never knows when the next eye-catching moment will occur. I have been blessed to be awarded three ribbons from the Wellsboro Grand Canyon Photography Club during their biannual juried membership exhibits, including a "Viewer's Favorite" blue ribbon in 2011. I love to capture storms, landscapes and unique images such as Bucky's pines. Visit "Fotos by Frost" on Facebook to enjoy more of my images."
Submit your photo of an iconic image of Wellsboro or the surrounding beauty of Tioga County, and your image could be a puzzle too!
Proceeds from the sale of our local puzzles are used to encourage creative thinking and the arts in our community. From promoting our photographers and local artists through our membership in the "PA Route 6 Artisan Trail," to hosting community art projects at the annual art show, encouraging creative thinking through free events in Pop's Playroom, and donating to local arts programs, Pop's Culture Shoppe is proud to make this part of our mission. We thank the artists and photographers who generously share their talents to help us in this endeavor.
