The extensive open space around Wellsboro, Pennsylvania abounds with wildlife which often comes to visit us downtown too. Here is a collage of photos taken right here in our area: PA’s state bird, the ruffed grouse; a wild turkey; a black bear; a bald eagle with two eaglets; a blue-eyed baby fox kit; and two young whitetail deer. These animals were photographed ethically using a long telephoto lens. Always practice safe wildlife viewing at a distance - protect and respect all of our wildlife.

Wellsboro resident Linda Stager is an award-winning photographer, book author, and outdoor writer.
