Bohnanza: Princes &Pirates Expansion

Bohnanza: To Bean or Not to Bean! Princes & Pirates Expansions by Uwe Rosenberg and Rio Grande Games are recommended for 1 to 7 players ages 13 to adult take about 45 minutes to play.

These expansions require the Bohnanza base game to play.

Bohnanza: Princes & Pirates is an English language compilation of two Bohnanza expansions previously available only in German: Bohnröschen and La Isla Bohnitâ.

In Princes, 1-6 players are a Bean Prince and must get to their sleeping beauty. This is done by fulfilling quests to cross the thorn hedges to get to the castle where she awaits. This expansion can also be played with Bohnanza: Ladies.

In Pirates, 2-7 players can now buy ships in order to help them trade and sell beans. You can also purchase pirate ships which you can use to raid your opponents bean fields.

As card games go, this one is quite revolutionary. Perhaps its oddest feature is that you cannot rearrange your hand, as you need to play the cards in the order that you draw them. The cards are colorful depictions of beans in various descriptive poses, and the object is to make coins by planting fields (sets) of these beans and then harvesting them. To help players match their cards up, the game features extensive trading and deal making. An award winning game since its debut in 1997, Bohnanza and its expansions are fun card games for any audience. The base game is suitable for 2-5 players.
