Our Wellsboro Comic Con #1 2022 Poster features the amazing art of Dean Kotz.
In its first annual Wellsboro Comic Con, Pop’s Culture Shoppe presented many talented artists and writers, featuring special guest Roy Thomas. Among his many credits, Thomas co-created Marvel’s Wolverine character. Artist Dean Kotz drew this image as an homage to the first appearance of Wolverine in "The Incredible Hulk" #181. With concept by Jared Aiosa, Kotz set the scene during Wellsboro’s annual "Dickens of a Christmas" celebration, where Bob Cratchit and Scrooge along with onlooker Tiny Tim recreate the iconic cover-art battle between Marvel’s Wolverine and Hulk originally drawn by Herb Trimpe.
Artist Dean Kotz, originally from northeastern Pennsylvania, studied painting at West Chester University, and has been working professionally in the comic book industry since 2009. His numerous art credits include Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter in "Warlord of Mars Attacks," ancient aliens in "Gods and Gears," pulp adventurers in "The Red Panda," the crime-solving poet "Poe," and fantasy heroes for "Dungeons & Dragons." Kotz has also worked as a video game concept artist and illustrator for a wide variety of tabletop games. See more of his work at www.deankotz.com.
Kotz is a 2022 and 2023 Wellsboro Comic Con guest!
