“There are two parts to this image: 1. a photograph of my wife Marianne's coneflowers, and 2. a photograph of one of my textured paintings. Many photo editing programs have a feature called "layering." In the computer, I can digitally put one photo on top of another. I am then able to use the editing tools to allow both images to show to varying degrees. I control what shows and what is covered. I've borrowed a descriptive phrase from literature, Magic Realism."

“I've always been interested in making Art. My interest led to a career as an art teacher in Mansfield's W.L.Miller Elementary School. I worked there for 32 years. After retirement I worked for 7 years as an adjunct in the Art Department of Mansfield University. I work on my art every day. The photography part of my art often involves local streams, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Fifteen years of serious camera work. From promoting our photographers and local artists through our membership in the "PA Route 6 Artisan Trail," to hosting community art projects at the annual art show, encouraging creative thinking through free events in Pop's Playroom, creating the annual Wellsboro Comic Con, and donating to local arts programs, Pop's Culture Shoppe is proud to make this part of our mission.
