Scythe: Encounters Expansion

The Scythe Encounters Expansion is an expansion to the Scythe Board game suitable for 1-5 players ages 14+. This is an expansion, and cannot be played without the base game.

In June 2018, Scythe fans were invited to design an encounter card using specific art. Jamey reviewed the submissions, selected his favorites (often mixing and matching various submissions), edited them, and published this set of 32 new Scythe Encounters.

Some cards include "secret" options in parentheses that should not be read out loud. If you choose that option, keep the card face-down until you use its ability by sharing it with all players. If Polania choose the secret option as 1 of their 2 choices, they must only read the non-secret option out loud until they use the secret ability.
When playing against the Automa, if an encounter card has the "no Automa" icon, you may choose to discard it and redraw, as one or more of the options may not apply. This icon appears on 11 cards.

It is recommended that you play the new encounter cards on their own for a few games before integrating them into your game with the already existing encounter cards.
