From the Author:
Last year, 2018, was an uncanny one. I lost a dozen people close to me. Friends, family, and acquaintances from my childhood town, started dying in February and it never let up. I suppose it never does. I woke to the news of a woman succumbing to cancer in my current home town. The announcement was so unsettling, it inspired me to write the first poem in my book of prose & poetry. I vowed to write and titled "Top of Morning, Top of Mind." For many, many months, I wrote every day, first thing--almost before coffee. News I awaken to, current event topics that hit the airwaves and my brain waves, feelings from the previous night, and thoughts in the forefront of my mind, is the premise for this, my first book of poetry and prose. "Top of Morning, Top of Mind" is a complete manuscript catering to adults from all walks, and in particular, those with a quizzical mind.
