Yo-Yo: Duncan Butterfly

The Duncan Butterfly Yo-Yo is recommended for children (and adults!) ages 6 and up! The Duncan Butterfly was first released in 1958. A demonsrator named Wayne Lundberg introduced the idea for reversing the halves and making a yo-yo that was better for string tricks. While the actual Butterfly design had been around since 1878, Duncan was the first company to actually manufacture these for mass consumption. The Butterfly yo-yo was changed to plastic in 1968.
